Best Mixed Martial Arts Training Products

If you are training for mixed martial arts (MMA) there are a few essential products that are above the rest and represent the best in quality and value for money. From gloves to shorts these products are the 'dogs bollocks' and well worth a purchase.

  1. Gloves - how can there be a better glove for mixed martial arts than the official glove of the UFC. The official UFC Glove by Ouano had showed its durability and quality by being named as the official glove of the UFC. It is constantly used by the best mixed martial arts fighters in the world. Features include cut fingers and a completely open palm for added movement and a wider velcro strap for extra support for the wrist when throwing those mega blows. These gloves are lightweight weighing in at about 4 0.z. per glove and come in 4 different sizes from small to extra large.
  2. Mouth Guards - ideally getting a mouth guard made by a dentist is the best solution but is a tad on the pricey side. Luckily shock doctor have come up with the POWER GEL ULTRA. Shock doctor is a popular mouth guard in the world of mixed martial arts and its no wonder as the power gel ultra provides great protection, lower jaw stability and above all a super tight fit. This is the difference between teeth and no teeth or concussion and no concussion and is available in a range of sizes.
  3. Grappling shorts - if your looking for lightweight but very tough shorts then put your confidence in Vangaard MMA Grappling Shorts made from micro fibre material. Enjoy great freedom of motion and an edge on your opponent as the tighter fit and smooth material effectively decreases your opponents chance of getting a grip on you
  4. Fight shorts - the modern and more comfortable fight short has seen an increase in popularity and allows a superb range of motion with the added bonus of a stylish appearance for the fighter. The Hayabusa Kyoudo fight short is a cut above the rest, it may be slightly more expensive but its indestructible webbing contributing to a customised fit is unrivaled. They have an unrestricted range of motion and are durable beyond belief. But perhaps the most interesting feature about these shorts are the odor inhibiting effects!
  5. Heavy bag - want to deliver even harder strikes? Of course you do! A heavy bag is a must for any mixed martial arts fighter and the MMA Nevatear Double End Heavy Bag by Everlast is in one word perfect. Value for money is unbelievable as the modest price provides you with a durable bag in a range of weights with a vinyl reinforced skin. Importantly this includes steel ceiling and floor attachments.
  6. Focus Mitts - vital for accuracy, speed and timing, focus mitts provide another alternative for striking practice and are essential if you want to be competitive. The Fairtex Ultimate Contoured Focus Mitts aim to create a fit that minimises wrist injury and allows the trainer maximum control. Fingers never jam and the impact on the trainers hand is reduced due to a unique foam layering system.
  7. Shin Pads - NEVER TRY AND LEARN LOW KICKS WITHOUT PROTECTION. From experience I know the importance of having shin pads in training. The Rogue Competition Pro Series Shin Pads have a comfortable yet snug fit to stop the shin pad twisting. They can be worn barefoot and are designed specifically for mixed martial art use. Made from the highest quality leathers and neoprene they are a great multi purpose shin pad for use in training and competition.
  8. Helmet - the best helmet out there without a shadow of a doubt is the Top Ten Bayflex Helmet. Made out of Bayflex (a thick rubbery material) it is very durable and washable. The only disadvantages it has is that it is more expensive and it is a bit heavier than the average helmet. Buy one for life!
